Packing for Bonnaroo isn't a last-minute job. Plan ahead and buy or borrow supplies that will keep you comfortable during four days in the Tennessee heat. Many online forums and printed papers create survival guides for Bonnaroo that feature the same-old supplies. Alabama's Huntsville Times just published a piece with a few tips for surviving music festivals, most specifically Bonnaroo and the Hang Out Fest. They had basic tips like, bring an extra tarp to cover your tent and block out the morning sun, and this site focuses more on fest style than on function.

Comedy Central announced this week that they are partnering with Bonnaroo to film a one-hour comedy special. This is the first time a Bonnaroo comedy event will be captured on film and distributed on-air. The release is expected to be shortly after Bonnaroo 2012 - over the summer.

The two latest news items to enter the popular Bonnaroo buzz for the upcoming 2012 fest is one part funny and one part sad.
The lineup of comedians to perform at Bonnaroo 2012 was released. Joining the returning Aziz Ansari will be: Marc Maron, Brian Posehn, Garfunkle & Oats, Amy Schumer, Pete Holmes, Rory Scovel, Mike O’Connell, Ali Wong, Kyle Kinane, Judah Freidlander, Reggie Watts, Rhys Darby, Colin Hay.
The sad news is that Earl Scruggs, the legendary bluegrass musician who has performed at past Bonnaroo Fests, died at the age of 88 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Bonnaroo has been making the headlines this week for a variety of reasons. What's true, what's fake, what's really going on about the 2012 Roo? First, the charitable heart of Bonnaroo was the center of attention. After a decade-long success, the music festival has tallied up over $5 million in charitable giving. Not too shabby! According to Nooga.com, a news site covering Chattanooga, TN, the donations go to the East Tennessee Foundation. The foundation then finds organizations in need of funding. Good music and good times translates to doing good for others! Where else did Bonnaroo surface in the media? The first photo book chronicling Bonnaroo's colorful history was released recently. According to Broken Mic, the Bonnaroo picture book captures a decade's worth of music performances and close-up shots of the musicians with 400 images. Press some patchouli between the pages and turn it into a scratch-and-sniff book!
Looks like twenty-one-year-old Correll Baker will be out of jail in time for Bonnaroo's 25th Anniversary. Baker was charged with reckless endangerment and robbery after trying to rob someone selling Bonnaroo tickets. The robbery was caught on video, which helped a jury convict Baker of the crime. Baker is facing a potential 14 years behind bars. The official ruling will be announced in mid-March.
Music-lover and blogger "Sarah on the Go" has the right idea: She's hoping to hit up the Jack Daniel's Distillery on her way to Bonnaroo 2012. Just a half hour from the festival site, the distillery is one of the spots outlined in How Do You Roo, along with more places to cool off and hang out with friends after the fest.
