You've heard of CouchSurfing and have probably seen the ride sharing section on Craigslist, but there's a handy dandy new app called goCarShare that launched just this month. The app is exclusively for travelers who need a ride to a music festival (only in the UK for now). Although Craigslist and the inforoo message boards get bloated every May with ride offers, once someone makes a US-targeted app, it may be the best thing since sliced gluten-free bread.
If you can't wait to ride the 80' Ferris wheel that crowns Bonnaroo each year, check out the Big Spring Jam in Huntsville, Alabama. The fest is less than a month away and will rock the deep south on September 23rd and 24th. Incubus, Earth, Wind & Fire, Josh Turner and Alan Jackson will perform--among many others! These music festival tickets are wallet-friendly at only $30 if you want to go for just a day. Ferris wheel rides are $5--which is apparently how much a cup of coffee costs at Bonnaroo according to Arianna Skibell's recent article in The Emory Wheel.
A New Jersey bloggger and Rooer, Ellie Delancey, has posted a delightful twist on the Ben & Jerry's Bonnaroo Buzz flavor...with cupcakes! However trendy cupcakes have become the past few years, from Sex & the City's Magnolia Bakery plug (video above) to Brooklyn's Butch Bakery cupcakes for men, these Bonnaroo Cupcakes mix the malt and whiskey signature base with chocolate. She's got step-by-step and photo-by-photo instructions on how to create the jammin' cakes in your home. These just might be perfect road trip desserts for Bonnaroo 2012! :)
Music festival community and adventure are paralleled by blogger Sara Melvin's latest post. Check out the montage of Woodstock and Bonnaroo photos. The cross-generational parallels are quite amusing!
